Overall this was a fantastic novel. The kind I stayed up far too late on a work night because I just couldn't put it down. I honestly wasn't sure if she would. It was a series that I knew that I wanted to read more of - but of course, hundreds of other books got in the way. With Giles, learning his history is an eye opener and while we had some of the background on Brigit she was somewhat vague also. But in the end a happy ending for most everyone. Risking her own safety gets complicated when an honorable and annoyingly desirable man puts himself between her and her powerful enemies in a battle he can't win in this Taming of the Shrew meets Shifter Goodfellas on the Bayou tale of consequences, redemption and finding love in all the wrong places.
To try and keep everyone safe he takes her to the backwoods of Louisiana where his own past is revealed. Birgit was one of the most selfish, calculating and manipulative heroines I have read about in a while. A writer whose fifty novels since 1987 cover the romance spectrum, Nancy Gideon thrives on variety. A good man drowning in bad deeds. Has something happened to Kendra? Summary A good man drowning in bad deeds. Beneath the dirt and grime it was clear Laurel Cordell was beautiful.
I'd like to see a real rake used and reformed, of course. Still smiling, he opened it for her. Anyway I like how Max and Cee Cee continue to feature in this ser 3. You want me to take care of him for you, Jimmy? Clair is charged with protecting Brigit MacCreedy. She is the way she is because that is what she had to do to get by.
The two of them together as a leading couple are frustrating, heartbreaking, sexy as sin, and ultimately perfect. Some of the situations weren't her fault and I think her brother left her and Kendra out to dry from the previous book. This is a very fast moving book and you barely get a breather between crises. Is there a restroom I can use? Gideon should be admired for her talents, which have allowed her to do what she loves for as long as she has, and to continue to do so for as long as she has the desire. Clair, a human mobster turned good, and Bridgit MacCreedy, a Shifter whose actions have brought on a lot of trouble. I love Bree and her self confidence in herself and what her worth was, she made no apologies for using her sexuality. And I would occasionally look at the covers and drool.
As if he felt her stare piercing through his tux jacket, her brother glanced over his shoulder—and held her frozen expression. Nothing better to do, so you thought what the hell? I want a female character who will stand up to anyone, and most especially her man. While I really enjoyed this book, I had some problems with it. Her books encompass genres from historicals and regencies to contemporary suspense and the paranormal. Giles was a human hired gun for the mob until Max took over and he started walking the line towards law and order again. Her heavy black hair was woven into a coronet of braids entwined with ropes of gold and pearls.
As much as I disliked Brigit at first, I completely enjoyed Giles. Then he broke the mood. But there were things about Giles I really liked. That goes for men, as well. You think I can do better? I haven't really been a Giles fan, because he's really didn't have a major role within any of the books. A bad girl who is a serial kiler probably deserves any bad press she gets. There is a lot of family loyalty, whether related by blood or friendship, where people will put everything they have on the line to save another.
So you came to me. Clair doesn't need a problem like Brigit MacCreedy. That doesn't mean that to be interesting a character has to have accidentally killed their parents or something; but bad girl can take a lot of different meanings. Max is still shut away trying to regain his memories, Silas and Giles are running his empire in the meantime and trying to maintain the strength of the shifter pack, but something happens that makes me think we might see him come back in the next book. When on deadline, she turns on the laptop between 4:30 and 5:00 a. I think what draws me is the deep love they have not only for their mates, but for their family's as well! Why is it okay for the hero to be harsh, brutal, cold and manipulative in those early chapters and we make allowances for him, but the heroine.
Who knew shape shifters were so wide spread? The Shifter duo exchanged a glance, and the driver shrugged, steering the vehicle into the bumpy parking area. The three of them had endured terrible events and had been looking for the means to right their lives ever since. As local firefighters work to contain the inferno they come face to face with a beast that should never have been discovered. So, when Brigit MacCreedy, sister to Giles's co-2nd-in-command comes into town trailing nothing but trouble behind her, Giles takes responsibility for her and ends up in the middle of something much bigger and learns quite a few things about his charge and himself along the way. She bit back her desire to tell him what he could do with his charity.
